I am the oldest of four children born to parents that were the oldest children in their families also. I was raised in what I will call a conservative culture and church. In some places it is considered a ‘holiness’ type of church because of the emphasis put on personal holiness.
I became a Christian when I was 18, and it has been an interesting journey ever since. Many ups and downs, and struggles with who and what I am. While I am no longer affiliated with the church I was raised in, because of family I am still indirectly connected. Many of my writings come from the underlying beliefs and and associated feelings I have being raised in that culture. Underneath it all, I probably remain a conservative person, though I prefer to think of myself as an openminded conservative.
